About Standing Down
The Village of Los Lunas is proud to bring a national reading discussion program for veterans to the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage & Arts.
The program will enable veterans to reflect on their service and the challenges and opportunities of transitioning from active duty to civilian life. The one-hour discussions will be moderated by a skilled veteran facilitator. The program will center on the anthology, Standing Down: From Warrior to Civilian which features war-themed writings from noted authors such as Shakespeare, Yeats, Margaret Atwood, and Tim O’Brien. The discussions will allow veterans to relate to the writing and share personal stories.
This program is made possible through funding by the New Mexico Humanities Council, The Great Books Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Village of Lunas.
Registration by veterans is required and group size is limited.
To register, or for further information, please call 505-352-7720.
