Holiday Extravaganza!!!

Tuesday, December 16th, starting at 6:30PM

Join Mr. Z and Matt for a winter evening of fun. We will start with a winter story while enjoying hot cocoa and mulled cider. People of all ages will be able to make their own Pearl bead ornament, tube sock snowman, and many more great crafts!

12/15/14—Genealogy - Intro to Ancestry.com - 6pm and 7pm

Boone County Historical Society Executive Director, Pamela Schwartz will be joining us as we explore the libraries new subscription to Ancestry.com. This will be the start of a monthly series discussing how to research genealogy.


NOTE: Each session will cover the same material, different times given to better suit your schedule.

This month we go back a few decades to enjoy super-hero Christmas movie... well, it takes place around Christmas time at least. But, guarantee there is plenty of punching, explosions, and dramatic tension. Plus there will be snacks!


Latest YA Fiction

Midweek Matinee

Wednesdays (other than the 1st of the month), stop by the Ericson Public Library at 3pm for the Midweek Matinee. Sit back, have a snack, and relax with friends and a movie.


This month we will be featuring movies that are all set around the holiday season, but aren't necessarily holiday movies.



We will have movies on 12/10, 12/17, and 12/31; no movie on 12/24 due to library closing early.

Special Story Event!

Misty McNally Reading Santa's Scenic Valley Ride

There's a blizzard so fierce that reindeer can't fly in it. How will Santa deliver gifts to children on the Iowa frontier? Santa's adventure behind a steaming locomotive is sprinkled with quirky characters: a funny conductor, a well-fed reindeer, and several railroad workers who would rather build snowmen than shovel.


Join author Misty McNally as she reads her clever, colorful, rhyming story that takes children with Santa on his first-ever train ride.


Storytimes

Stop in and enjoy a story in our Children's Department.


Storytime is every Wednesday and Thursday at 10AM.


We will not have Storytime on Wednesday the 24th, Thursday the 25th, Wednesday the 31st (CraftPalooza see below), or Thursday the 1st.


We also have a story time on Saturday, December 13th, at 10am


A special Sensory Storytime will be taking place on Saturday, December 20th, at 10AM and 10:15AM, please call our Children's Department to register.


Lego Club - All Ages - December 3rd, 1:45pm

Stop in an build anything with LEGOs. Show Mr. Z your creations and he will put them on Facebook.


littleBits - All Ages - December 3rd, 2pm

littleBits is the easiest way to prototype and learn with electronics. It's an ever-growing library of electronic modules that snap together with magnets so you can invent anything!


Newest Kids Books

Lego Technic - 1st - 5th graders - Wednesday December 10th

Stop in this month for Lego Technic Competition. Five minutes will be given for you to create and build your design with Technic pieces. Then show us how it works.


Mincraft - December 17th - 1st - 5th graders - After school til 5:30pm

Join us in the Children’s Department as we go into the world of Minecraft. Enjoy building and playing with friends. Bring your own iPad/laptop or use one of the library’s computers. No registration required.
