February News and Events from Glendale Public Library

Love is in the Air at the Libraries!

Something about February brings out our romantic side, and this month, our events for adults have a flirtatious flair! Practice the language of love in our French conversation group or chill out to some original love songs at the Foothills Branch. Discover how to say it with flowers, or crochet a heartwarming handmade gift at Velma Teague. The Main Library explores the edgier side of love at the 21& Up Book Club, and the ties that bind in Abstract Family Trees. No matter what you love, you're sure to find something interesting at the library! Click here to see all of our February events for adults.

Hot Reads for a Cold Month!

The newest and most requested titles can often have a long wait list. What's the solution? Hot Reads! These popular titles are available at the library on a "first-come, first-served" basis, with no holds, and no renewals. Unlike the "old" weekly readers, Hot Reads have a 3 week checkout and a $0.25 per day fine. Check the display at any Glendale Public Library branch, and try your luck!

Marlene's App of the Month

Do you want an app that can keep your grocery list, remind you to take the car in for maintenance and help you plan your next vacation? Digital Librarian Marlene Jacobsen recommends Wunderlist, an app that can do all of that and more. With Wunderlist you can create lists, set reminders for events and organize projects. Wunderlist is free to use and your account syncs between your phone, tablet or computer.
