Overdue books? ... Outstanding late fines?

The library will be waiving all overdue fees on items returned thru January 15, 2016. We will also be waiving outstanding overdue fees charged to accounts that have already returned items.

Please stop by the library to clear up your account in time for the new year!

We are starting a BOOK CLUB!!!

Are YOU interested in joining?

Come join us for our initial meeting on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 3 pm. We will be determining what works best for everyone and what book to read first. Here are our choices:

  • Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil by John Berendt
  • I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb
  • Pie Town by Lynne Hinton
  • Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

For more information call Rebecca at 839-3850.

Friends of the Library & Museum

The Friends of Los Lunas Public Library and Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts is being established to help fund new library and museum programs, organize and operate book sales, build museum exhibits, purchase art supplies, provide field trips and other ventures to enhance what is available to the community.

A membership drive is being held during December and January. Individual memberships are $10, $5 for students and seniors. Not every member has to be an active member volunteering their time; they can also be non-active members by paying for a membership. Charter memberships are still available.

The membership dues help build the Friends treasury plus their fundraising activities, such as the upcoming book sale Jan. 22-23, which will help pay the costs for the association to file for nonprofit status.

Anyone with books, both hard cover and paperbacks, that they no longer want are encouraged to donate them to the book sale. Drop them off at the Los Lunas Public Library, 460 Main St. NE.
